What you save vs. cloud SaaS.
Questions, answered.
If yours isn't here, email support@vidnexus.app and I'll answer directly.
What hardware do I need?+
Windows 10/11 (64-bit). 16 GB RAM minimum, 32+ recommended. An NVIDIA GPU with NVENC is ideal - RTX 3060 or better gets ~5-min videos rendering in under 2 minutes. AMD Radeon (AMF) also works. CPU-only fallback exists but renders take 5–10× longer.
How does the lifetime license actually work?+
Pay once. Use forever. Get every update to v1.x at no extra cost - bug fixes, new features, new motion graphic types, new stock providers, performance improvements. When (if) we ship a major v2.0 with substantial architectural changes, existing license holders upgrade for a flat $199 - never full price.
What does 'lifetime updates for v1.x' actually mean?+
Every release versioned 1.x.x - 1.1, 1.2, 1.5, 1.99 - is yours forever, free. v2.0 would represent a major paradigm shift (e.g. a complete rewrite, new licensing structure, fundamentally different architecture). When that happens, existing license holders upgrade for a flat $199. There are at least 12 months between major versions.
Can I install on multiple machines?+
One license activates on 1 primary machine. You can deactivate it from your account dashboard and move it to a different machine anytime - same as JetBrains, Adobe, or any other single-seat license model. Need to run on more machines simultaneously? See /enterprise for 5/10/25-seat team licenses.
Mac and Linux - when?+
Honest answer: on the roadmap, but no commitment to a date. Mac requires Apple Developer signup ($99/year) and physical hardware for testing - we'll add it when demand justifies the investment. Linux is faster to add. Tell us which platform you want first: hello@vidnexus.app.
Why local-first instead of cloud SaaS?+
Three reasons. (1) Privacy - your scripts and footage never leave your machine. (2) No per-render fees - cloud video tools charge $1–5 per minute of output; VidNexus renders cost you $0 forever. (3) Speed - local GPU rendering is faster than uploading + cloud render + downloading.
What about the API costs (voice, footage, etc.)?+
You bring your own API keys. The voice is the biggest expense: on ElevenLabs about $0.10 per 1,000 characters of narration, so a typical 5-minute faceless video runs ~$0.35–0.50; ai33.pro (OpenSpeaker) costs less, with prepaid credits from $5. Pexels and Pixabay are free with API keys. Coverr is free with attribution. Ollama (LLM) runs locally - $0 per script.
Do I need an internet connection?+
Only for the API services (TTS, stock, LLM if you use a hosted model). If you run a local Ollama, host your own stock library, and use a local TTS - yes, VidNexus renders entirely offline.
Can I get a refund?+
Yes - 14-day money-back guarantee, no questions asked. If VidNexus doesn't work for you, email support@vidnexus.app within 14 days of purchase and we'll refund in full. After 14 days, no refunds.
Will you keep updating it after launch?+
That's the entire business model. Lifetime license, lifetime updates. We're solo-developed, focused on faceless YouTube creators, no VC pressure to pivot. The roadmap is public on /roadmap.
